GETTING THERE

Sometimes I am reminded of just how lucky I am to do what I do. Granted, I am still figuring out myself what it is that I do. For those of you who know me, you will know that I am nearing what I will call the first stage of completion of another house project. This one has taken more than its usual share of twists and turns but like most things once you forget the pain it is very gratifying. The pool was just filled and finally the grand pit that was a front yard is now starting to feel like it wants to be there. The inside is getting coaxed along too. The way it works for me tends to be fitful and sometimes furious.

As the dust is beginning to settle my latest endeavor is starting to take shape. The details are coming together. Colors and finishes, tile on the slow boat from Morocco finally arrived and is more perfect than I imagined. The travertine from Turkey Has beautiful color and variation. The Zollo family of stucco and plaster genius has given me walls to love. And yes even the pool will soon be wet. Kleo's house and parcel still holds me under it's spell. I wake up with the new light warming the post of the back porch. As I write this I realize how much there is, or could be, to post here. It may take me some time to get into the swing of this Blog thing.
