Just in time for what the locals call winter here the fireplace mantles are finished. The power of a fire is hard to explain but suddenly it feels a lot more like home now. Scrubbed pine, waxed steel, zinc sheeting with small brass pins and stone all came together. The bedroom version is gas and frames only the flame and its reflection through a bronze screen.
